I am pretty sure that rehab was built for this very reason.

I've quit a lot of things, including cocaine but I never had a really serious addiction to it just a several month binge. The only way I have ever successfully quit anything (cigarettes & various drugs) is cold turkey. You just quit doing it, you be really fucking pissed off constantly and bitching at people and getting mad over things you shouldn't be, but you do it. I've never seen rehab work for any of my friends (and many have gone) the only ones I've known who have ever quit and the only thing I can ever comfortably recommend is that you decide that you are going to just be a complete asshole for the next month or so while you quit cold turkey. As for a very simple hint you may have heard but really worked well for me, especially with the cigs, is you make it a goal for that day. Not the next day, just that day, and you harness all your energy into getting through that day and waking up in the next one. Don't ever think about how long it's been or how long you have to go, just being sober that day. Good luck man, you sound like you really want to quit which is probably the most important part. Note: Two of my best friends kicked their cocaine addiction by quitting cold turkey and have been off it for about two years now, they were at the points where they were buying 8 balls daily.

It's hard but take all that coke and throw it in the garbage or bury the stuff ok get rid of it some how,. And FORCE YOURSELF don't try BUT DO force your self to not do it after the first couple of months of not doing it your body should lose its heavy addiction for it, trust me its hard but its better then rehab because your actually getting this stuff completely out of your system thus making the addiction weaken or go away

You say that you have been using for seventeen years, that is a long time and in that time you may of used a lot more then cocaine.... You say you grew up in a family where drugs and alcohol was a part of life, this doesn't make your situation all that much easier.... You also say that you have been hurting your loved ones and family because of your using.....Now you know very well that it isn't going to be an easy road ahead, for you and that is either way you go. Because if you don't do something about your drug habit you will end up only hurting yourself and everyone you know that is a part of your life, may not be there to be a part of your drug using life... It isn't easy to say that you are using drugs, and that you need help.. This is the first step, but it is a lot harder to keep going on and stop using... The thing is you need to go and get some help with sorting out your life and what you want to go with it... You do need to go to a rehab and that isn't a easy thing to do as it isn't for everyone, and it isn't aways all that help full, sometimes it can make it worse.... I found that if you really do want to get out of the drug scene that moving yourself away from the area and into another area, and not knowing anyone to score from, and get the drug from will help you allot, but you don't go out and about looking for it as well. Go to your local doctor and see them, and tell the doctor what you have been up to and what you would like to do, as your doctor would know what direction to send you... Seeing that you have been using for such a long time, it isn't going to happen over night, it is going to take a long time for you to find yourself and become a non drug user.... But in saying all that it can be done, and you can do it, and if you really do want to do something about it please see someone professional about it all today, not tomorrow, as in drug land tomorrow doesn't come, and when you think about it again you will realize that you are thirty seven years old, as time goes by soooo fast when your running around using.... I understand where you are coming from as I have been there before, as I was on heroin for up to eighteen years. I have not used for three years, and I am still getting use to knowing who I am so please just do it.... Go for it.... and know that you can do it and be like everyone else..... All the best and take care.....
