Question: Crack cocaine addiction....?

We thought that we could help him...but I think that he is able to get it without his wallet. Me and my husband have a close family friend who recently confessed to us that he has a crack addiction. We started to ask questions when he tried over and over to sell his furniture and electronic equipment to us. He has a very good job that could be compromised if he tried to get professional help. We are surprised that he still has it. We have been trying to help him, taking care of his finances and having him spend all of his free time with us. But we can only do so much. He has family that now know, but they live hours away. They have been keeping in touch with us and him. We suspect that he has relapsed again after 2 weeks of possibly being clean. Should we urge/ force him to get professional help? We are ill equipped to help him I believe.

If he gets professional help them it would actually become illegal for his company to terminate his employment because then he would be on disability and its illegal to fire a handicapp person. it would be best in my view for him to get professional help, because cocaine is a deadly drugs, and if something were to happen to him as a result, would u be able to live with yourself knowing there might have been something you couldve done to have prevented this person from harm!

You forcing him to get help wont help him he wont stop unless he wants to.

A year ago this guy came to our office and talked to us about drugs etc...idk why goldmansachs paid for this...anyway, he said that crack cocaine has a 15% rehab rate. so really, there is no way of helping him even if he does get professional help....but still, i think it would be better than nothing....might soothe you conscious a bit more. its going to be a long and winding road thaaat leads to you door. i saw you standing there, a long long time agoooo...

Dont help him any more and tell him that we wont help you no more inly if you stop doing your drugs. that should help a little

Yes you shold URGE him to get professional help..... I wouldn't try forcefully..... get his entire family to tell him to go to regab IN PERSON. Or some other trained professsional...
