Question: Subtopics on drug addiction?

Im doing a research project on drug addiction and i need help with the subtopics.. my thesis question is "is drug addiction a disease? " and we have to seperate the pros and cons.. so the pro is yes it is a disease and the con is no it is not a disease.. please help me find subtopics for the pros and cons!

Drug abuse is generally not the problem but the symptom of the problem. Problem being mentall illness, history of abuse, depression etc.

Cons: - addiction is all psychological [ this is a theory] - most drugs only produce psychological addiction [this is a fact} - drug addiction is not inherited neither is an involuntary condition/ is not caused by something unrelated Pros: - it could be a condition that only affects certain people making them more prone to addiction - substance abuse is directly related to other conditions that might make an individual to take certain drugs
