Maybe many of these ppl have an addictive personality? my freind is an alcoholic for example, but has no actual psychological disorder, she drinks cos of life stress.. this can happen with smoking. sex.. gambling.. too. not sure if its an actual disorder, many ppl without psychological disorders chose to take drugs for many reasons, and then many become addicted.
