You cant fail a drug test for something you have a prescription for. To the person below, i was on methadone for 2 and suboxone for 1 year. I had a script. Gave it to the people conducting the drug test. not an issue.

Yes. Methadone will make you fail for opiates, since it is an opiate. Benzodiazepines prescribed to taper off a benzodiazepine addiction can also make you fail for benzodiazepines.

Well, just because a doctor gave it to you doesnt mean it isnt going to magically not show up on the screen. However, if you have an rx for it, that should be the end of the story. Exceptions could be for drug ordered tests, military, or safety sensitive jobs. When you take the test, report the medication. When you test positive, the testing facility will verify that the rx is legit, and that will be it.

Yes. The person who answered saying that nothing a doctor prescribes will make you fail a drug test is painfully ignorant. Many prescribed drugs will cause you to fail a drug test. In fact, most people at some point in their life have consumed a prescribed drug that would've made them fail a drug test had they taken one. Basic urine screen drug tests usually test for THC (marijuana), Benzodiazepenes (anti-anxiety meds like Valium, Ativan, Xanax, etc.), Amphetamines (like Ritalin, Ativan, Cocaine, etc.), Opiates (like oxycodone, codeine, vicodin, etc.), Hallucinogens (PCP, Pcylocybin, etc.), Barbiturates (phenobarbital), etc. Since you said that they were drugs being given to you to help treat addiction, it's most likely that they will cause you to fail a drug test. This depends on what type of drug it is and what type of drug test it is. Some drug tests are more thorough and test for a range of drugs. Some of these drug tests will even test specifically for drugs that a doctor might prescribe to treat addiction, since many of these drugs can also be abused such as Methadone. I have even heard of people failing a drug test for opiates after eating poppy seed bagels.

Nice try! If you bring this to the attention of the tester it will explain why you have traces of _____ in your urine. It will not explain the abundance of the other stuff you've taken because you think you can get away with it.

Think about it stoner: When you fail your drug test and you show them your prescription, and they say "That's not the drug you're failing on! " what you going to say then? Stop taking drugs or fail the test, it's pretty simple really.
